Don't Be a Jerk - Get Your Ex Back with Class
If anybody has ever said
that they enjoyed going through a break up, then they were either lying or a
little bit crazy. Sure, there are times when splitting up are the best thing
you can do, but most relationships can be saved if you have the right plan to
follow. Assuming you want to work things out with your ex then it makes sense
that you would also want to work them out faster rather than having it take
longer.
The first rule of getting back together is to not play games. You are dealing with two people's lives--real lives--and that means both parties are worthy of respect. Playing silly little games will only work against you and could end up pushing your ex further away. If you want an adult relationship, then you need to act like an adult. Furthermore, if you’re ex is the one playing games, and then do your best to not play along.
Stubbornness often gets in the way of making up. Arguing is quite common prior to a break up, but a lot of these problems could be solved instantly if you are willing to stop trying to prove you are right. Yes, you may be right, but if you can find any part of your position that you can compromise on, then doing so will go a long way toward working things out.
Another important thing you can do is apologize. Be careful here, though. How you apologize makes a big difference. The two keys to a good apology are to be specific and sincere. Saying, "I'm sorry for whatever it is I did", or "I'm sorry you got upset" really aren't apologies at all. If you want to get your ex back, then know exactly what you're apologizing for, and mean it when say it.
